Currently working within Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua counties, STRAWW was implemented in early 2012, with Housing Options Made Easy, Inc. partnering with Cattaraugus County Community Services, the Mental Health Associations of Cattaraugus and Chautauqua Counties, and Directions in Independent Living of Olean. The Recovery Center Youth Work Program was introduced in 2013, as an outgrowth of STRAWW’s success. This program is designed for youth ages 16-25 in mental health recovery to reach their employment and/or educational goals.

STRAWW Recovery Guides assist participants in developing recovery plans tailored to their individual needs. Various tools are used to assist all participants in our programs to define their goals and develop a plan to reach them. We link participants to community activities and programs and also create activities and events that are of interest to participants. We encourage self-reliance and independence so participants are prepared to leave the program empowered to take the steps needed to continue meeting their goals.
